Off To Michigan (and Buffalo)

So a few things came about from our trip up north: 1) My complete addiction to the "Twilight" series, and hence, the reason I'm posting this at the end of December, and 2) Ellison has broken free from the chains her crib, and is now sleeping in a big girl bed, and 3) We have a 3 year old that wants and completely knows how to use a "GPS" (Ellison terminology for a Nintendo DS).
Our much-anticipated trip to Michigan finally came to fruition. It had been a whole year-and-a-half since we were last there!!! The 3 of us were SO excited. Ellison is quite used to flying, though I think it seemed like her first time since I don't know that she remembered much of the other times.

She got the window seat, and was practically glued to it for most of the first leg of our trip there. She kept exclaiming, "We're flying like the birdies! Look!", and thought it was cool that the clouds were below us. When I would try to peak over her shoulder to get a view, she would quickly say, "Could you go away, please? Go back." Well, then. Glad I could share in the special time with her. But she did great and loved our adventure.

When we arrived at the airport, and we spotted her Grandma, Grandpapa, and Aunt Carrie, she quickly asked me to grab her Dora bag (she HAD to roll her own carry-on the whole time we traveled), smiled the biggest grin, then ran into Grandma's arms. It just melted our hearts - you never know how it's going to be since she rarely gets to see her family.

As soon as we got to Grandma and Grandpapa's house, Grandma had a new purple dress waiting for her, and she of course had to change into it immediately. The entire rest of the trip she asked to wear it every single day; we even went and bought her another one in pink, and either one will do. They are in her #1 and #2 dress spots. Anyway, her Great Uncle Bob from next door came over to see us, and she was so sweet and friendly to him. He loves kids, and it shows. :-)
Since we were back home last, Grandma and Grandpapa had completely remodeled most of the house - inside and out. It was strange to see it all so different! We all hung out down in the nice new basement playing toys for a while.

My cousin, Shawn's, little girl, Allie came over to visit with Grandma Yvonne. The girls played Polly Pockets.

Soon thereafter, Ellison's cousins arrived from Grand Rapids. Lucas, Olivia, and Emma with Ellison. The kids played SO good together! Ell is totally missing out not having them around...
