Well, the day before we left, I felt like I had been hit with a ton of bricks. I felt SO ill! One of those days where I wonder what I would've done if we were home alone with Ellison feeling this bad (answer: suck it up and move on). We had big plans to meet Aunt Carrie in Lansing for lunch, so we could say goodbye to her; but as luck would have it, I was so sick and she called that morning to say they were having car trouble anyway. So Elli hung with Grandma while I visited the closest Urgent Care for antibiotics. The rest of the day was spent with me laying around a lot, then packing. Not a great way to spend our last day with the 'rents. :-(
So off we were to the airport early the next morn. As always, saying goodbye sucks...
Before the tears began...
Miss Independence with her own carry-on that she HAD to walk through the airport herself. Don't know why we bothered to take the umbrella stroller. The only couple times we used it were spent with us trying to shush our whining child. I'm trying to appreciate this independence - it really is a cool and good thing, just not when it interferes with my plans. ;-)
