Easter Day

Ellison woke up (to parents pretending to be asleep, waiting in anticipation) and stopped at the top of the stairs, peering down. Then she said disappointedly, "The Easter Bunny never came." She was remembering Christmas time when she peeked down the stairs and could get a visual of the new kitchen Santa had left her. We explained that the Easter Bunny probably put her basket in the living room, and quickly she stepped down the stairs, where she finally broke into a grin. Momma was thinking that perhaps the Easter Bunny and Santa DID switch places, because she sure got a lot of fun things besides candy!

She was quickly off to go find the eggs the Easter Bunny hid. Since a few were still wet with dye, apparently, the Bunny didn't hide all of them. I'm sure he thought Ellison would never know the difference, but boy, did she! She kept saying, "But where is the pink one? Where is the green one that says....". So while she was searching around, someone dried off some more eggs and sneakily hid them while the hunt was on. He needs remedial Easter Bunny classes, too...

We went to a beautiful church service, and after church, we went to our annual Easter brunch at Lucky 32 for some yummy food.

After coming home for a nap, the 3 of us headed next door to the Copeland's house. Unfortunately, I had to head to work, so I missed out on the fun Easter egg hunt they did for Ellison and the twins.

That night, Ellison tried out her new goggles in the bathtub.

Daddy said it was hilarious, she'd plug her nose, and still keep most of her eyes mostly out of the water, but exclaim excitedly, "I did it! I can see under the water!"

Makes me crazy that this pic is out of order, but I'm trying to get over it. Anyway, she's talking to Miss Nancy in the church library after the services. She loves going in there after church.

Despite the going-to-work part in the evening, it was a beautiful Easter Sunday! We are always left with such a hopeful feeling on that special day... to know the significance of why we will be allowed to live with Jesus one day, and why we are able to have a relationship with our Savior... when we clearly don't deserve it. Grace. Love. Victory for all who choose it. Thank you, Jesus...
