Her last day in the cast...
We went to the park after school for lunch with her classmates, Logan and Baity, and their mommies, before she had her appointment to get the hard pink thing off. She was looking very forward to the "tickle machine that vibrates" to get it off.
... and the "after".
She smiled after she got her arm back, but quickly realized that he arm still hurt to move it. She also wasn't thrilled that her skin itched since it was all dried out, and burned, thanks to the rubbing alcohol the lady put on it. We had strict orders to "keep her feet on the ground" for another 2 weeks - no jungle gyms, no jumping, no bikes, no tumbling. If there are any falls in which she complains of arm pain, we are to call to get another set of Xrays and a cast again. No pressure.
Within 30 minutes of being home, she slipped on her bathroom floor, falling and knocking her elbow - THE elbow - hard against the wall. (Sigh). After crying that her elbow hurt, I was relieved to discover it was the back of her elbow - not where the fracture was. Oy, it's going to be a long 2 weeks...

Oh I bet she is SO relieved to have that thing off! When I was 10 I broke my leg and had a full hip-toe cast, and I remember the wonderful day it came off... and noticing how that leg was so much skinnier than the other afterwards! Hopefully that will be E's only broken bone!
