My Gift

My Mother's Day gift, from my Little Gift...

She brought it home from school for me, and I was so anxious to see it. Days before, when I asked her what kind of craft she did at school, she told me, "It's a surprise, Mom. I can't tell you," in her sneaky little voice. A few minutes later she said, "It has a face in the middle, but it's a surprise. I can't tell you." Hee, hee. It was one of those precious gifts that makes you get all teary-eyed when you read it. Her cute little face in the middle of a flower, the stem and leaves made out of her fingerprints and handprints. A poem about growing up and not worrying about the messes kids make. So perfect and sweet. Thank you, Elli!
