Princess Birthday Party - Wrapping Up

After glitter paintings were complete, and sweet tooths (er, teeth... whatever) had their fix, the girls gathered round for the wrap up. The FG had more tricks up her sleeve...

Then she finished with a cool "magical" part where Ellison got to wave the wand over her special bowl, the FG lit the contents of the bowl on fire, then removed the lid to reveal special rings for each girl to pick out.

After the FG left, the girls took turns trying to pull open the Cinderella pinata. Ellison was the first to go...

... and was ironically the last one to go and pull the thing open, showering the ground with princess treats.

After Baity won the "Pin the Heart on the Bracelet" game, they all gathered up their treat bags and balloons and started heading home. It was a fun little party, and they all seemed to enjoy it well.

OK, so later, Jonathan discovered Ellison's phallic little bunny...

He apparently got turned around at some point. Ellison said, "Hey, why is his tail in the front?".

As much fun as it was watching the little beauties, we were whipped out! After gift opening (thank you, all!), playing with new toys, and a round of naps for (almost) all, it was dinner out that night.

Princess Birthday Party - The Fairy Godmother

The Fairy Godmother showed up! The girls seemed stunned, but quickly got into it. Ellison seemed shy about it, but smiled.

The Fairy Godmother gathered the girls around to tell them all about her silly elves and show them what her elves had been up to.

After lots of silly tricks and trinkets with her stories, she made balloon animals for each of the girls.

I kept thinking the FG was gonna get mauled a couple of times, the girls were so eager.

Ellison chose a bunny for her balloon, and later questioned why on earth it was red.

The puppet section of the gathering was a hit - the girls would erupt in squeals and shrieks and laughter. The birthday girl got to get a kiss from a shy little cat. Ellison looked just as shy to fork over her cheek. :-)

Then the FG whipped out her glitter paint set, and the girls each got to request a painting on their forearms.

Ellison chose a mermaid. We knew it would either be that, a unicorn, a princess, or a dolphin - Ellison's favorite things.

Princess Birthday Party - They're Here!

And finally, let the fun begin! The princesses were squealing with laughter, dancing together to the music. I think this could've gone on for a long time - I hated to put an end to it, but such is the problem when you're on a timeline.

Princess Birthday Party - The Prep

OK, Ellison's birthday party has to be broken up into a few different blog entries, because there are simply too many pics I want to include. And I need to thank Alisha and Cameron for sharing some pics with me - I stole them from you to post.

We didn't have a birthday party for Ellison last year, and as my dear friend mentioned to me, you can tell we have the guilt of knowing we're gonna have another baby because we went all out for her party this year. :-) She deserved a fun birthday party anyway. The theme was a princess dress-up party, where all the little girl guests were to come dressed up in fairytale attire. Ellison was all about that, and excited about her party from day one. It felt like we were talking about Cotillion in the weeks and months leading up to it. She LOVED helping put together the party favors and such. Anyway, we were glad to have some family to help join in on the fun of decorating, to transform the dining room into a place fit for princesses, in honor of our Bugsy.

(If only we could permanently leave up the balloons to cover up the hideous chandelier at all times.)

We had little peanut butter with/without jelly sammies cut out in the shapes of tiaras, high heels, flowers, and castles.

Ellison got the royal treatment having Grandma get her all spiffed up for the big day. When they were finished, Ellison walked down the staircase to surprise us. :-)

Oh, our beautiful baby girl, no longer a baby...

She was getting impatient waiting for the party to begin. She looked so pathetic sitting by the front door with a forlorn look, asking where all of her guests were.

When we put the Disney Princess CD in, our little princess starting dancing away while she waited.
