We had such a fun, beautiful evening at the Greensboro Grasshopper's game, courtesy of our friends, the Holcombs. It was the perfect stress reliever to occupy our minds for a few hours considering Ellison's health news the day before. We all had a great time! When we told Ellison we'd be going to the baseball game and that she could see Hopper, she was immediately excited. Hopper didn't disappoint. He scared the pants off Mom here (my back was turned when he came in the door to the box, and when I turned around I let out a little yelp), but Ellison about jumped off the bar stool to get a hug. We're so surprised she actually likes these creatures. Now the fireworks at the end of the game? Yeah, not so much. We warned her ahead of time (mistakenly thinking she might like them), which usually does the trick, but she was absolutely terrified, and there was no way to escape the booming noise. The entire way home from the game, the entire time we (quickly) got her ready for bed, and as we were even laying her down to bed, she just kept repeating, "My no like the fireworks", over and over and over. We've completely scarred our child. Just in time for the 4th of July. Sorry, baby.
