We tooled around Beaufort one afternoon, shopping, eating, and perusing the quaint little harbor town. I think Dad was ready to complain, and did not want to be walking around anymore, but we stumbled upon a very old, very cool cemetery. We are the warped people who love going through really old, charming cemeteries. Jonathan and I did it often in those old mining towns in the mountains of Colorado. I'm fascinated trying to imagine what their lives were like. It was such a cool place, stuck in one of the town blocks, but you felt like you were tucked away somewhere else entirely.
Some of the tombstones dated back from the early 1700s!
Note Ellison's new dolphin friend, Daisy, which she begged to have upon spotting her in a store. Guess who was the sucker that gave in to many of her "I want that" desires? Grandpapa. Daisy is rarely without Ellison and Teddy these days. I think her love of dolphins was spawned when her cousins came to visit - Olivia loves dolphins, and now Ellison does too.
Interesting they used to bury people like this...
