It still blows my mind in NC when school is cancelled the day before and the forecast is calling for the temp to be 44 degrees the next day!!! I can completely understand delays for ice, but cancel school the whole day when it's going to be 44 and no new precipitation?! Argh. Ellison was looking so forward to her "Polar Express Day" at school where they were supposed to wear their jammies and have hot cocoa. Our birthday party for Jesus was already cancelled the day before, and we were couped up because pregnant mama did not want to risk slipping on any ice. I manage to trip/slip/fall easily enough without ice. "Grace" is certainly not my middle name. By the time Friday rolled around and school was no longer an outing option, I decided we needed to do something to get out of the house. So we met Daddy for lunch at "Mad Greek" (yum!), then headed over to see us some Perez gals.
When we arrived, the table was all set up to decorate some reindeer cookies. So cute!

That evening, it was nice to get out again for a lovely Christmas party at our friends', the Sharpes, while Kathryn came to hang with Ellison. December is making up for all of those months without a sitter! :-)
